Presentation by Energy Trust of Oregon
Recently, the city upgraded the wastewater treatment UV disinfection system. The upgrade allows the system to adjust power usage based on water flow. These adjustments can save the city 460,000 kWh each year, which is about $24,000 per year.
The Energy Trust of Oregon is a nonprofit group working to bring energy efficiency and renewable energy to more people. They have been working with the city for 5 years on this upgrade project.
What will happen? The Energy Trust of Oregon will give the city $127,500 in support of this energy upgrade project.

RESOLUTIONS
Resolution No. 3542 – Calling a Measure for the Police Building
Last week, the council agreed to bring a resolution for a new Police building in Dallas. On Monday, the council will vote to decide if they officially start the process for the bond measure.

How much will this cost? The bond is for $17,200,000. That is estimated to be $0.52 per $1,000 of assessed home value per year. For an average home value of 250,000, it would be just over $125 per year.
If you need a quick refresher of the maths, see the Dallas Signal’s wrap up from Dec 9, 2024.
If you want more information on the Police building project, the city has more information here.
What will happen? If the council votes to approve the resolution, then the process to make it official starts. Specifically, it would begin with advertising a public notice, and filing election forms with Polk County. The measure would appear on the ballot in May 2025.
Or, the council can not pass the resolution and the process to build a Police building would stop.
